The first tooth is here!

We must not have been watching when the tooth fairy slipped in and gave Lidia her first tooth! The first little tooth broke through tonight. We were thinking that all this drooling had to lead to something!

November...oh where did it go!

I can't believe we are well into December already...I am so far behind. So let me catch you up on the last month or so...

I really wanted to get pictures of Lidia in the leaves this year, but missed my chance before all the rain came...below were my attempts on the first day the rain stopped. I tried to include Daisy too...I believe in this first picture it is quite possible that Daisy is whispering to Lidia, just smile for the crazy lady and this will allll be over... she then ran to the back of the yard never to come near the camera again! :)

We had a wonderful Halloween, Lidia was adorable as her little pea pod. We didn't get many trick or treaters, but it was such a wonderful night out we ended up sitting on the porch and enjoying the night. Daisy even got into the spirit of things, as you can see in this picture we called her "Scary Daisy"!

November has seemed to fly by, Lidia is rolling onto her tummy, but hasn't quite mastered getting back to her back. :) She began drooling quite a bit a few weeks ago, so we are thinking that teeth might not be far away. She has started eating her cereal and she loves the oatmeal, the rice and barley not soooo much. She smiles and laughs all the time. Everyday she does something new. The other day she was totally focused on her pacifier, she stared at it diligently for a few minutes turned in her hands...and jammed at her face a couple of times before getting it in her mouth, upside down...and then she had this look on her face, like I'm so close, but something is off... :) She is just so much fun to watch right now.

We had quite a busy Thanksgiving weekend that started off with the Turkey Trot. Scott ran the 10k and Lidia and I bundled up for the Mashed Potato Mile on the riverfront. It was a great morning that ended with breakfast with some of the Griffin clan at the Detroit Breakfast House. We saw my parents later that day for a quiet dinner. Friday was a massive cleaning day, we were hosting the Neathamer's for dinner on Saturday. I had hoped our new couch and ottoman would arrive in the nick of time, but they arrived the following week. I cooked my first Turkey and it was Edible!!! Actually it was pretty good. Thankfully all the similarly named members of the family helped by bringing wonderful sides and desserts! Thank you Krista & Kristin. It was a wonderful day! And we now know we can fit atleast 8 adults at the dinner table(s).

This past weekend we did a circle tour of southeastern Michigan. Started with Scott's open house at work, where Lidia visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus (does anyone know her first name?). She did wonderfully, must help that both Dad and Grandpa have facial hair! We then headed from Rochester to Grosse Ile to my Mom's annual family Christmas Party. Great food, family and festivities were had by all. Lidia showed everyone that she is perfect, smiling, giggling, and letting everyone hold her with barely a whimper all day long! Although Scott did learn a lesson...NO Super Baby right after eating oatmeal and an entire bottle...wow what an explosion!
Sunday we headed out to Bill's place to celebrate Krista & Kristin's birthdays. Oh what a flock of them there are this month by the way...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF YOU!!!

I do keep wanting to up load some of the video clips we have of Lidia, but everytime I try I get errors...so I'll keep working on it an hopefully soon you will get to enjoy some of our Lidia Moments!

Fall Fun!

Last weekend was very busy! Saturday we went to the apple orchard and met up with the Neathamer clan. While waiting to get on the hayride out into the pumpkin patch we ran into the Anderson family, I can't believe how big those kids are getting! We even got to ride out into the fields with them. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed probably the best hot cinamon donuts and cider I have ever eaten, go to Spicer's it's a drive that is worth it! Here are some pictures from the day!

We headed home around 2 to get ready to go the Kamman's annual Halloween party. Lidia was dressed up as our blue ribbon winning peapod and we were her farmers! The night was full of fun and friends...even though some of us were sadend by the Michigan game. Lidia even got to hang out with 2 potential suitors, Oliver and Andrew. They will be fighting over her as soon as any of them is mobile!:) I don't have pictures of all of us...but really do you want to see anyone but her?

To wrap up the weekend Scott ran leg 2 of the the Relay in the Detroit Marathon with the Duggan's. He ran from Windsor through the tunnel and back into Detroit. Lidia and I were standing along the road ready and waiting to cheer him on right before he finished. He even took a quick side trip to give Lidia a quick kiss. Who could resist...she was wearing her I'm too cute bear snow suit!

Just to keep you up on Lidia...she is now sucking her whole hand (most often her first 2 fingers) on a regular basis, she is giggling up a storm, and is working on rolling over and trying to learn to balance and sit up! WOW!:)

September!!! When did Fall arrive!

It's amazing how fast Lidia is growing!!! She is now 12 weeks old, 24 3/4 inches, 12 lbs 15 oz and her hair has officially decided it is too long to stand up. :( Above is my favorite "faux hawk" picture.

Last week I went back to work. :( It was hard, but good. I enjoy being back into things and working again, but I loved spending so much time with Lidia. She started daycare and so far so good. She is having a bit of an adjustment to sleeping there...they aren't allowed to swaddle her, so she isn't sleeping so well in the crib. Which is not the same story at home, she is sleeping wonderfully at night. We really hope this continues, she is sleeping between 8 and 9 hours at night, with just the occasional fuss, when she loses her pacifier.

Other than returning to work, we have kept on the move all through September enjoying the amazing weather. Lidia went to her first Tigers game with Abby and me. It was a bit of questionalble weather with an hour rain delay, but she made it through the entire game. The Tigers even won!

We took Daisy to the nearby waterpark, that opens for dogs the day before they drain the pool. It was quite the experience, we were fairly certain that Daisy was not a "water dog", and this belief has been confirmed! I tried to upload a video clip...but I'm having some issues with it so I'm going to try pictures instead... :)

Almost 2 months!

Hi All,
It's already the end of August so I knew I needed to get an update and some more pictures out there. We had another great month...I can't believe I have to go back to work in just 4 weeks! So Lidia continues to surprise and amaze us! She is sleeping around 6 hours from around Midnight to 6 am and last night she slept 8 hours!!! It's been great...I'm sure I am cursing any future nights sleep. She loves to be swaddled and put in her swing and we love that we can get some decent sleep most nights. She is smiling up a storm...more for daddy than me and we are waiting on a giggle. Occasionally she will "laugh" in her sleep....we hope these are very happy dreams and sometime soon she will do it while awake.

This month has been a busy one. Lidia and I have started baby yoga with Camilla and Oliver, we love getting out and learning a few things to help her stretch. And I don't mind if it helps me continue shedding those pesky extra baby pounds! Amy Landry and the kids came in town for a week and we went to the pool and the zoo. Lidia decided she was too cool to get wet...so she chilled in her stroller while others enjoyed the water.

This was Lidia's second trip to the zoo...although this is how she looked most of the time we were there:

Here is another set of pictures Scott took I hope you enjoy them...they make me laugh!
