Family Trip

Hi all! We successfully made it to and from the family vacation at Boyne Mountain. Oh what a trip it was! Scott was inventive and downloaded a MP3 of a vaccum cleaner running and bought a speaker...this helped soothe Lidia most of the way there and back, at night, in her stroller and pretty much any other time she needed it the entire weekend! It was great!
The weekend was full of firsts for Lidia...first time at the beach, in a bikini, dipping her toes in the lake. She even attended her first Kid Rock Concert! Ok so she didn't have a ticket, and well neither did we or anyone else in our family...but the concert was about 100 yards or so from our condo, so we were able to hear it without trying too hard. We actually sat behind the stage and listened for a while. Some of the more daring family members went up the hill and listend from above. It was quite a weekend! We even got to see Joel, Jennifer and Caitlyn for dinner. Caitlyn convinced Scott to ride the chair lift with her and to dance.

Wrapping up July!

So...We are all healthy and doing well. Yay! Hopefully we can keep this up!

Last Thursday I turned 35, thanks to Tammy and Abby I have been reminded of 2 things about turning 35...I now have to check a new box on all forms and...I am halfway to 70... Thank you both!

We are heading up to Boyne Mountain for the "Family Trip" with the Martinuzzi side of the family. We hope to survive the 3-4 hours in the car each way with Lidia. She is not a fan of her carseat...so please send happy thoughts our way. Wish Tony good luck as we are picking him up on our way and he get to enjoy the noise maker too! :) We plan on meeting up with Joel & Jenn while we are up in their neck of the woods! And potentialy enjoying the Kid Rock Concert that will be taking place about 100 yards from our condo's!

Yesterday Lidia showed us her new skill of sucking her thumb and we caught it with the camera! So enjoy the picture!

We will hopefully have a ton of new pictures after our first vacation with the Lidia that we can share next week!

Just an update...

Not sure who all has heard of our weekend saga...but I ended up back in the hospital and had to have surgery to remove my gall bladder. It is apparently not uncommon during pregnancy to get gall stones. Yay, another fun side effect no one tells you about! :) So after an attack on Wednesday night, 2 doctors appointments, and an ultra sound, it was determined that I had a very "angry" gall bladder. I was scheduled to meet with a surgeon in early August barring any further attacks. My gall bladder decided it was not waiting that long and at 5 am Sunday morning we were back at the hospital; where it was determined it would be coming out on Monday morning.

Thanks to massive help from Moms and Dads on both sides Lidia was well taken care of while I was in the hospital and Scott was shuttling back and forth making sure we were both taken care of. We cannot thank our parents enough for all the help they have given us and continue to give us through this experience. I was able to come home from the hospital Monday evening and I am doing well. A little sore and gall bladder free! I am well on my way to recovery and Lidia got to experience a little of the spoiling she can expect over the next 18 to 35 or so years of her life!

Again I cannot thank our parents or Scott enough for getting us through this fun little event and now I would like to get on with my summer of enjoying baby!

Lidia's First Week

We are Home!

Hi all,

Wanted to give you a quick update now that we are home. After about 16-18 hours of labor it was decided that Lidia needed a bit of help getting out to join us. So she joined us via c-section. I am doing great, up and about, just a bit sore, hopefully that is how it stays! Lidia made it through the whole process great! She came out face-up, screaming for food and still quickly lets us know when she is hungry! Even the nurses were impressed with her hunger and her ability to let everyone in the nursery know what she wanted.

As it is now day 4 we are not only mesmerized by her but finding out the true meaning of tired! We have loved introducing her to family and friends who she fools into thinking all she does is sleep, by being on her best behavior for company!

Today Daisy got to meet her new best friend....and she is being very attentive...although we are unsure if she realizes exactly what this tiny smelly creature is, and that she is staying. She is totally fascinated! Lidia on the other hand is playing hard to get and pretending that Daisy doesn't exist.

I'm going to try and add a slide show tomorrow so I can show you a few of the many pictures we have taken over the last few days!

So....she is still happy where she is... :)

I went for my non stress test yesterday and the doctor laughed and said...yep..she's happy in there...no stress, perfectly happy! My doctor confirmed this today, she said that we can schedule our eviction (induction) for next Wednesday or Thursday unless she decides to come out and visit on her own. So at this point it's looking like I may end up with a July baby! If she holds out, she could join us on Heather Lee's birthday or the Fourth of July, any other early July birthdays we should aim for? I'll keep you posted!
